Wesley Weekly #24: Wrapping Up Our Capitalism/Socialism Discussion

Hello everyone! Thanks for joining us as we wrap up our multi-week discussion. Hope you’ve enjoyed the ride!

What You May Have Missed…

Last week, we talked about socialism and the New Testament. Despite what many claim, one can find biblical support for socialism, especially in the New Testament, where Jesus is shown driving the money-changers and salesmen of sacrifices out of the temple and the disciples redistribute their own wealth.

Prayers and Concerns

We continue to pray for students and faculty who have to navigate college in new environments during these stressful times.

If there is anything you would like the community to pray for, send us a message, or reach out to us on our social media pages. Know that you’re not alone.

Student Thoughts

Q: “If you had to move to another planet, what’s one possession you would take with you?

A: “Probably a book.”

A: “I’d take a case of hot sauce, because there is a difference between surviving, and living.”

A: “I’d have to say my laptop since it has games on it, I could watch movies and shows, and I could hopefully still talk to people living on Earth, though there’d probably be a pretty large delay.”

A: “Either a rocket ship or Wi-Fi.”

A: “My Nook. I’d download more ebooks before I went, too.”

If you have something you have written you would like us to post (poem, essay, etc.) or interesting questions you would like to ask us, send us a message on any of our social media or on our contacts page!

That’s all for this week’s fabulous edition of Wesley Weekly! Don’t forget to like and follow our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter pages so you’ll never miss out!
