Wesley Weekly #36: LGBT Rights and Religious Responses

Welcome back to Wesley this week where we are jumping into our first full discussion for the semester.

We’re excited to begin tackling relevant issues again, so stick around to see what’s on this week.

What you may have missed…

Last week we finished our discussion on developing the themes and content for this semester

We finally agreed on two primary subjects, one is the religious and cultural issues surrounding LGBT issues, and the other being the historical cultural foundations of religious thinking.

So we will be looking at covering topics in both of those areas substantially this year.

This Week

The first topic is one that is incredibly important for institutions like ours to consistently discuss and develop, and that is understanding inclusiveness surrounding LGBT issues, and evaluating religious reactions to them.

The amount of personal and emotional damage that has been done to people coming to acceptance of who they are by religious institutions has been catastrophic.

We want to take the time to understand why, and look at what a positive and inclusive response is, and giving a solid foundation of love for our continued life and love in this world.

The MSU Wesley Foundation has restructured our Patreon page and we would be grateful if you would check it out! If you would like to donate, please visit our Patreon!
