We are continuing our theme this week of
“Religious Fundamentalism and Extremism”, dealing with various forms and influences of extreme religious perspectives on our lives and communities.

What you may have missed…
Last week we kicked off our theme examining the concerning history and recent revitalization of overt Christian Nationalism in the U.S.A.
We evaluated its history as responses to progress, immigration, de-segregation, inclusiveness, education, and various other progressive movements.
While this rise is deeply concerning, we at Wesley believe that in the end, love and progress always wins out.
This Week
This week we are starting by looking at the influence of televangelists on American society.
This will likely be a multi-week deep dive into this subject with evaluations on their views of prosperity, culture wars, political support, anti-education bias, amongst many other factors.
