Wesley Weekly #18: The Adventure Continues

This is our second posting of 2021, but it still feels weird to say that a new year has started, doesn’t it?

Welcome back to another wonderful installment of Wesley Weekly! Catch up on what we’re doing as we settle into 2021.

What You May Have Missed…

Last week, we checked in on how everyone is doing in the midst of recent events, especially political ones. We also discussed what we expected for the future, especially in the fields we each hope to go into.

This Week

This Thursday, we’re going to be discussing gender roles in the Bible. We had planned on discussing this last week, but had to push it to this week. As you may recall, Jim promised “absolutely horrific materials that should make for an interesting discussion.” We still don’t know what that means, but we look forward to it!

If you’re interested in joining us, send us a message to get the link to the Zoom meeting. We hope to see you there!

Prayers and Concerns

We continue to wish for the best of all of our students as they prepare to go back to school for the spring semester.

We also continue to pray for everyone affected by the pandemic and the Capitol riots.

If there is anything you would like the community to pray for, send us a message, or reach out to us on our social media pages.

Student Thoughts

This week’s question is a classic for the start of a new year.

Q: “What are your hopes/plans for 2021?”

“Hope: That we have fewer natural disasters. Plan: Not dying.”

“Hopefully get a job after this semester.”

“I plan on finding a good job after graduation, and I hope that the pandemic ends.”

“I hope that everyone can get the COVID vaccine and that we can finally start getting rid of the virus.”

“Hopes: That it’s not just a 2020-1/2020.1 and that the vaccine proves effective. Plans: Spend more time with loved ones and actually play through some of the games I got last year and the year before.”

If you have something you would like to write for us (poem, essay, etc.), or interesting questions you would like to ask us, send us a message on any of our social media or on our contacts page!

That’s all, folks! Don’t forget to like and follow our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter pages so you’ll never miss out!
